  • Detention centers (Dachau)) and other unofficial buildings were used to detain them

Phase 2: May-July 1933

  • Everyone who was not a Nazi, and supported some other group was arrested
  • Wiped out all non-Nazi organizations

Little political resistance for the next twelve years

Tactics

  • Take over rural councils
  • By terror
  • Taking over or removing all other organizations
  • Persecuting the Jews
  • Through propaganda
  • By tackling unemployment
  • People joined the Nazi party, because they saw that to get anywhere in Germany you had to be a member.
