There was little organized persecution of the Jews for the first two years of Nazi rule.

How did the Nazis treat the Jews from 1933-39?

In 1933 Hitler felt he was in a strong position
April 1933 - official one day boycott of Jewish businesses
1934 - Anti Jewish propaganda increased
May 1935 - Jews were not allowed to join the army
September 1935 -Nuremberg Laws
Banned marriage and sexual relations between Jews and non-Jews
Jews were no longer citizens, but 'subjects'
1936 - Olympic games
1936 - Jews could not vote
July 1937 - Jews are banned from attending school and universities
April 1938 - Jews had to register property, making it easier to confiscate
June-July 1938 - Jewish doctors, dentists and lawyers forbidden to practice on Aryans
October 1938 Jews had to have 'J' stamped on their passports
9-10 November 1938 - Crystal Night
December 1938 - Jews banned from cinemas, concerts, museums and sports fields
September 1939 - Jews not allowed to own a radio
July 1940 - Jews not allowed to own a telephone
July 1941 - Orders given to begin final solution
September 1941 - Jews have to wear the Star of David
October 1941 - Jews not allowed pets
December 1941 - Gas chambers built in Auschwitz
