When energy is used it does no dissapapear, it changes/transfer to a different form of energy

Energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be transferred from one form to another

Forms of Energy

  • heat/thermal
  • light
  • sound
  • kinetic
    • gravitational potential
    • elasitc potential
  • nuclear
  • electrical

word done = force x distance moved =x Joules

power = work done/time taken = x j/s = watts

Pressure

  • Pressure = force/area = x N/m2
  • a measure of how concentrated or spread out a force is
  • small area = large pressure
  • large area = small pressure
  • In a liquid pressure increases with depth
  • In a liquid pressure is the same in all directions
