  • The extension (spring) is directly proportional to the pulling force. (weight)

Moments

  • A forece that makes something turn, or rotate is called a moment

Calculating Moments

  • moment of a force = force x distance from pivot

Principle of Moments

  • Clockwise movememnts = anticlockwide movememnt

Scalars and Vectors

  • vectors have size and direction. e.g. acceleration, verlocity, displacement
  • scalars only have size e.g. temperature, money, volume
