The key focus before March 1st is to be course work as in Technology it is worth 60% of the final mark. The exam is worth 40% and is set on a theme the AQA make available to pupils on or about March 1st.

Focused revision will begin at some time after that date which coincides with the course work deadline.

There will be a variety of activities in class but it will be expected that pupils will extend their knowledge with extension study at home. This can take various forms:-

Research on a topic set by the teacher to a limited time frame using a variety of techniques.

Completion of worksheets started in class.

Practice of examination questions from previous papers.

Revision for focused tests to be done in class under exam conditions.

Final consolidation of work done over the revision period in order to answer any questions fully in the exam.

There are various exam techniques which will be stressed to pupils as they practice for the questions. These include : -

Not leaving any blank spaces on the question paper.

Read the question carefully so you know what to answer.

Look carefully at the number of marks allocated for each part of the question so you know how much to write.

Think carefully at the time you are have been advised to spend on each question or part of a question and try to work to the time suggested.

Do not forget to bring all basic equipment to the exam including coloured crayons, ruler, sharpener, rubber, as well as the basic pen and pencil.
Always give full descriptive answers/annotation/sketches.
